13929 - From Jabir ibn Abd Allah: "That the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed for the people on the Day of Sacrifice. When he finished his sermon and prayer, he called for a ram, slaughtered it himself, and said: 'In the name of Allah, and Allah is the greatest. O Allah, this is on my behalf and on behalf of those of my nation who have not offered a sacrifice.'"

13930 - From Jabir, he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sacrificed two rams on the day of Eid. He said when he turned them (toward the Qibla): 'I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, a Muslim, and I am not of the polytheists... Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds, no partner has He; and of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims. O Allah, it is from You and for You, and on behalf of Muhammad and his nation.' Then he mentioned the name of Allah, said 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the greatest), and slaughtered."

13931 - From Muqatil, regarding "So surrender to Him," he says: "Devote yourselves sincerely to Him."

13932 - From Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And give good tidings to the humble (al-mukhbitin)," he said: "The humble are those who do not oppress people, and if they are oppressed, they do not retaliate."

13933 - From al-Dahhak (may Allah be pleased with him), regarding "And give good tidings to the humble," he said: "The modest."

13934 - From al-Suddi (may Allah be pleased with him), regarding "And give good tidings to the humble," he said: "The fearful."

His saying, the Almighty: "Those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts feel fear."

13935 - From Muqatil, regarding "Those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts feel fear," he said: "At the time when they are warned. 'And the patient over what has afflicted them' of trials and calamities. 'And the establishers of prayer,' meaning: performing it by fulfilling what Allah has entrusted them with regarding it."

His saying, the Almighty: "And the sacrificial camels (al-budn)."

13936 - From Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: "The badana (sacrificial camel) is that which has a cloven hoof."

13937 - From Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: "The badana are those large in size from among camels and cattle."

13938 - From Mujahid (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: "The badana are only from among the camels."
