13956 - From Muqatil ibn Hayyan, [regarding His saying:] "Their meat will not reach Allah," he said: Their meat and their blood will not be raised to Allah, but the slaughtering of the sacrificial animals is from the taqwa (piety) of Allah and His obedience. He says: What is raised to Allah from you are the righteous deeds and piety.

13957 - From Ibrahim, [regarding His saying:] "but what reaches Him is piety from you," he said: [This refers to] the slaughtering of them during those days.

His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, Allah defends those who have believed."
