is unable, then the feeding of a needy person for every day. And He granted a concession in Hajj if one does not find provision or transport, or is prevented from it. And He granted a concession in Jihad if one does not find transport or funds. And He granted, at the time of extremity and necessity of hunger, a concession in [eating] carrion, blood, and swine flesh to the extent that one may keep himself alive, so that he does not die of hunger; and in things similar to this in the Qur'an. Allah has made it expansive for this nation as a concession from Him which He has bestowed upon them (1).
14037 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "The religion of your father Abraham," he said: The religion of your father (2).
14038 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "He named you the Muslims before," he said: Allah (Mighty and Majestic is He) named you (3).
14039 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "He named you the Muslims," he said: Allah (Mighty and Majestic is He) named you the Muslims before. He said: [In] all the books, and in the Remembrance (Dhikr), and in this, he said: The Qur'an (4).
14040 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "He named you," he said: Allah named you the Muslims before and in this, meaning in your Book, "that the Messenger may be a witness over you," that he has delivered the message to you, "and you may be witnesses over the people," that their messengers have delivered it to them (5).
14041 - From Ibn Zayd regarding the verse, he said: Allah did not mention any nation by Islam and Faith other than this nation; it was mentioned by both together, and no nation was heard of that was mentioned by Islam and Faith other than it (6).
14042 - From Ibn Zayd regarding His saying: "He named you the Muslims," he said: Abraham. Do you not see His saying: "Our Lord, and make us Muslims to You" [the entire verse] (7).
