‘Imran al-Junadi, who said: "Indeed, Allah has never looked at anything at all except that He has had mercy upon it; if He were to look at the people of the Fire, He would have mercy upon them, but He will not look at them."
14053 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh narrated to us, who said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd regarding His saying: "So you took them in mockery [sikhriyan]," he said: "They are two different things: mockery [sikhriyan] and mocking [sakharina], and Allah says: 'That some of them may take others in mockery [sukhriyan],' meaning: they mock them. As for the others who ridicule, it is 'sikhriyan,' and the others—who mocked the people of Islam—are 'sukhriyan' in that they mock them; so they are two different things."(1)

14054 - My father narrated to us, Sulayman ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Dimashqi narrated to us, Khalid ibn Abi Malik narrated to us, from Umayyah who said: "Indeed, in Hell(2)... therein(3)... seventy years before the Quran was revealed."
His saying: "My remembrance"
14055 - Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-A'la informed us by reading, Ibn Dhi'b narrated to us, who said: I asked Ibn Zayd about His saying: "The remembrance [al-dhikr]," he said: "The Quran."
His saying: "And you used to laugh at them"
14056 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Laugh [tadhhakun]," he said: "In the world."
His saying: "Indeed, I have rewarded them this day"
14057 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "This day [al-yawm]," he said: "The Day of Resurrection."
His saying: "For what they patiently endured"
14058 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu'ayb narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "For what they patiently endured [bima sabaru]," meaning: against disobedience to Allah."

عِمْرَانَ الْجَنَدِيَّ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَنْظُرْ إِلَى شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلا رَحِمَه، وَلَوْ نَظَرَ إِلَى أَهْلِ النَّارِ لَرَحِمَهُمْ، وَلَكِنْ لَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ.
١٤٠٥٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَصْبَغُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَاتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا قَالَ: [هما مختلفان سخريا وسخرنا، وَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ: لِيَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا سُخْرِيًّا قال: يَسْخَرُونَ] «١» وَالآخَرُونَ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ سِخْرِيًّا وَالْآخَرُونَ: اسْتَهْزَءُوا بِأَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ هُمْ سُخْرِيًّا يَسْخَرُونَ مِنْهُمْ، فَهُمَا مختلفان.
[قوله تعالى: حتى أنسوكم]
١٤٠٥٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أُمَيَّةَ قَالَ: إِنَّ فِي جَهَنَّمَ «٢» .... فِيهَا «٣» .... سَبْعِينَ عَامًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَكُنْتُمْ مِنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ
١٤٠٥٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا ابْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قوله: تَضْحَكُونَ قَالَ: فِي الدُّنْيَا.

١٤٠٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: الْيَوْمَ قَالَ: يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ.

١٤٠٥٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبٌ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلَهُ: بِمَا صَبَرُوا، عن معصية الله.
