14077 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "There is no deity except Him," meaning there is no partner with Him in His command.
His saying: "Lord of the Throne"
14078 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us, Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, my father narrated to us, he said: I heard Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrating from Ya'qub ibn 'Utbah and Jubayr ibn Muhammad ibn Jubayr, Mut'im narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, he said: A Bedouin came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, lives have frozen, the family has been lost, wealth has perished, and livestock have died. So, pray to Allah for us for rain, for we seek intercession by you before Allah, and we seek intercession by Allah before you." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Woe to you! Do you know what you are saying?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then glorified Allah (tasbih), and he continued to glorify Him until that was recognized on the faces of his companions. Then he said: "Woe to you! Allah is not to be used for intercession against any of His creation; the majesty of Allah is greater than that. Woe to you! Do you know what Allah is? Indeed, Allah is upon His Throne, and His Throne is above His heavens, and His heavens are above His earth." He indicated with his fingers like a dome, "And it groans under Him as a camel saddle groans under its rider."
His saying: "The Generous"
14079 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Ibn Bukayr narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "The Generous," he said: It means the Beautiful.
