His saying: "And We have sent down therein signs."
14085 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "And We have sent down therein clear signs," meaning what He has made obligatory upon them in this Surah, from its beginning to its end.
His saying: "Clear [signs]."
14086 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad ibn Talhah narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "Clear," he said: "Its meaning is that which clarifies the lawful and the unlawful."
14087 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan: "And We have sent down therein clear signs," meaning what He has mentioned therein of His lawful and His unlawful, His limits, His commands, and His prohibitions.
14088 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn Bukayr narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "That you might remember," meaning: so that you may.
14089 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh informed us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "Remember," he said: "The people of dhikr (remembrance) are the people of the Quran, and the dhikr is the Quran."
14090 - Musa ibn Harun al-Tusi informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Marwazi informed us, Shayban ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Qatadah: "That you might remember," he said: "Return with reflection upon contemplation, and with contemplation upon reflection."
His saying, the Almighty: "The fornicatress and the fornicator, so flog each of them."
14091 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Mubarak ibn Fadalah narrated to us, from al-Hasan, from Hattan ibn 'Abd Allah al-Raqashi, from 'Ubadah: That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Take [this] from me! Take [this] from me! Allah has established for the virgin with the virgin [a punishment of] one hundred lashes and banishment for a year, and for the previously married person with the previously married person [a punishment of] one hundred lashes and stoning with stones."
