14149 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "or a polytheist," meaning the Jews and the Christians, [who] marry Jewish and Christian women.

14150 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, from Qays, from Abu Husayn, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And that was forbidden," he said: Allah forbade that. It was also narrated from Mujahid and al-Suddi the same.

14151 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan al-Hisinjani narrated to us, Musaddad narrated to us, Ibn Abi 'Adi narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, from 'Ata': "And that was forbidden," he said: That which Allah deemed as an affair of the Pre-Islamic Period (Jahiliyyah) [but declared forbidden] in Islam. I said: Did it reach you from Ibn 'Abbas? He said: Yes.

14152 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Qays narrated to us, from Abu Husayn, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And that was forbidden to the believers," he said: Allah forbade adultery to the believers.

14153 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And that was forbidden to the believers," he said: The believers were forbidden from marrying them, and it has been commanded to them concerning them. He said: Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, [says]: "And that was forbidden to the believers," meaning their marriage.

14154 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "And that was forbidden to the believers," meaning it is forbidden for the believers to marry a lashed adulteress from the People of the Scripture, or from the bondmaids of the Ansar who are open about their adultery.

His saying, the Almighty: "to the believers."

14155 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "to the believers," meaning the believers [al-mussadiqeen].
