from 'Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Salih, who said: Tawus entered upon me to visit me when I was sick, so I said to him: Supplicate to Allah for me, O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman. He said: Supplicate for yourself, for He answers the distressed one when he calls upon Him.

16520 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, Ismail ibn 'Abd al-Karim reported, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil informed me that he heard his uncle, Wahb ibn Munabbih, saying: I read in another book that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says: By My might, whoever takes refuge in Me, even if the heavens and all who are in them, and the earth and all who are in it, plot against him, I will surely make for him a way out from that. And whoever does not take refuge in Me, I will cause the earth to swallow him from beneath his feet, and I will place him in the air, then I will leave him to himself.
His saying, the Exalted: "And makes you successors of the earth"
16521 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas reported, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah: "And makes you successors of the earth," meaning: one generation after another.
16522 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And makes you successors of the earth," he said: Successors to those who were before them among the nations.
His saying, the Exalted: "Is there a god with Allah?"

16523 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj reported, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam say: The people of Dhikr (remembrance/reminder) are the people of the Qur'an.
His saying, the Exalted: "Or who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea"
16524 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Bukayr al-Nakha'i narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak regarding "in the land and the sea," he said: The land is the wilderness of the Bedouins, and the sea is the cities and the villages.
His saying, the Exalted: "And who sends the winds"
16525 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "sends the winds," he said: Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, sends the winds.
عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبَى صَالِحٍ قَالَ: دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ طَاوُسٌ يَعُودُنِي، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: ادْعُ اللَّهَ لِي يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ. قَالَ: ادْعُ لِنَفْسِكَ، فَإِنَّهُ يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ
١٦٥٢٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الطِّهْرَانِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، أَنْبَأَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ مَعْقِلٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمَّهُ وَهْبَ بْنَ مُنَبِّهٍ يَقُولُ: قَرَأْتُ فِي كِتَابٍ آخَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَقُولُ: بِعِزَّتِي إِنَّهُ مَنِ اعْتَصَمَ بِي فَإِنْ كَادَتْهُ السَّمَوَاتُ بِمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَالأَرْضُ بِمَنْ فِيهَا فَإِنِّي أَجْعَلُ لَهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ ذَلِكَ مَخْرَجًا، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَعْتَصِمْ بِي فَإِنِّي أَخْسِفُ بِهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ قَدَمَيْهِ الأَرْضَ، فَأَجْعَلُهُ فِي الْهَوَاءِ، ثُمَّ أَكِلْهُ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ الأَرْضِ
١٦٥٢١ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ ثنا يَزِيدُ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ الأَرْضِ أَيْ خَلْفًا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ خَلْفٌ.
١٦٥٢٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرٌ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ الأَرْضِ فَقَالَ: خُلَفَاءُ لِمَنْ قَبْلَهُمْ مِنَ الْأُمَمِ.
قَوْلُهُ تعالى: أإله مع الله
تَقَدَّمَ تَفْسِيرُهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قَلِيلا مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
١٦٥٢٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ. فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، أَنْبَأَ أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ: أَهْلُ الذِّكْرِ هُمْ أَهْلُ الْقُرْآنِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَمَّنْ يَهْدِيكُمْ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْبِرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ
١٦٥٢٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا أَبُو بُكَيْرٍ النَّخْعِيُّ، عَنْ جَوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ قَالَ: الْبَرُّ بَادِيَةُ الأَعْرَابِ، وَالْبَحْرُ الأَمْصَارُ وَالْقُرَى.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَنْ يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ
١٦٥٢٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ
