Then He brings the clouds from between the two horizons—the edge of the heaven and the earth—where they meet, and He brings them forth from there. Then He spreads them and unfolds them in the sky however He wills. Then He opens the gates of the heaven so that the water may flow down upon the clouds, and the clouds subsequently rain.
His saying: "Glad tidings before His mercy"
16526 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding "Glad tidings before His mercy," he said: He spreads the clouds before the rain.
16527 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "before His mercy," as for His mercy, it is the rain.
His saying, the Exalted: "Is there a god with Allah? Exalted is Allah above what they associate [with Him]"

His saying, the Exalted: "Is it He who originates the creation, then repeats it?"
16528 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, Ismail ibn 'Abd al-Karim reported, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil narrated to me that he heard Wahb saying: Allah created the son of Adam as He willed and from what He willed, and so it was. So blessed be Allah, the best of Creators. He was created from dust and water; from which are his flesh, blood, hair, bones, and body. This is the beginning of the creation from which Allah created the son of Adam. Then the soul (nafs) was placed within him; by it, he stands, sits, hears, sees, knows what the beasts know, and avoids what they avoid. Then the spirit (ruh) was placed within him; by it, he knows the truth from falsehood, and the right path from misguidance, and by it, he becomes cautious, advances, consults, learns, and manages all affairs. From the dust is his dryness, and from the water is his moisture. This is the beginning of the creation from which Allah created the son of Adam as He loved it to be.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then repeats it"
16529 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani informed us with his chain of narration mentioned above to Wahb, who said: He read in some of the books: That Allah, Blessed and Exalted, when He created the creation and looked upon them as they walked on the face of the earth and the rivers flowed, He said: I am Allah who created you by My power and perfected you by My wisdom. My decree is true and My command is binding. I am the one who will cause you to perish just as I created you, until I remain as I was before I created you, alone; because sovereignty and eternity are not appropriate except for Me. Then I shall repeat My creation after their extinction for My judgment, and I shall gather them for My decree. On that day, My creation shall fear My punishment and My threat, and on that day, hearts shall tremble from fear of Me, feet shall stumble from awe of Me, hearts shall grow faint from the severity of My authority, and the deities shall dissociate themselves from those who worshipped them instead of Me.

فَتَأْتِي بِالسَّحَابِ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْخَافِقَيْنِ طَرَفَ السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ، حَيْثُ يَلْتَقِيَانِ فَيُخْرِجَهُ مِنْ ثَمَّ، ثُمَّ يَنْشُرُهُ فَيَبْسُطُهُ فِي السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ ثُمَّ يَفْتَحُ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ لَيَسِيلَ الْمَاءُ عَلَى السَّحَابِ ثُمَّ يُمْطِرُ السَّحَابِ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ: بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ
١٦٥٢٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرٌ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ قَالَ: يَنْشُرُ السَّحَابَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْمَطَرِ.
١٦٥٢٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ أَمَّا رَحْمَتُهُ فَهُوَ الْمَطَرُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَإِلَهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

قوله تعالى: أمن يبدؤا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ
١٦٥٢٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الطِّهْرَانِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، أَنْبَأَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَهْبًا يَقُولُ: خَلَقَ اللَّهُ ابْنَ آدَمَ كَمَا شَاءَ وَمِمَّا شَاءَ فَكَانَ كَذَلِكَ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ «١» خُلِقَ مِنَ التُّرَابِ وَالْمَاءِ، فَمِنْهُ لَحْمُهُ وَدَمُهُ وَشَعَرُهُ وَعِظَامُهُ وَجَسَدُهُ، فَهَذَا بَدْءُ الْخَلْقِ الَّذِي خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ ابْنُ آدَمَ. ثُمَّ جُعِلَتْ فِيهِ النَّفْسُ فِيهَا يَقُومُ وَيَقْعُدُ وَيَسْمَعُ وَيُبْصِرُ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَعْلَمُ الدَّوَابُّ وَيَتَّقِي مَا تَتَّقِي ثُمَّ جُعِلَتْ فِيهِ الرُّوحُ فَبِهِ عَرَفَ الْحَقَّ مِنَ الْبَاطِلِ وَالرُّشْدَ مِنَ الْغَيِّ، وَبِهِ حَذِرِ وَتَقَدَّمَ وَاسْتَشَارَ وَتَعَلَّمَ وَدَبَّرَ الأُمُورَ كُلَّهَا. فَمِنَ التُّرَابِ يُبُوسَتُهُ وَمَنَ الْمَاءِ رُطُوبَتُهُ. فَهَذَا بَدْءُ الْخَلْقِ الَّذِي مِنْهُ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ ابْنَ آدَمَ كَمَا أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ
١٦٥٢٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الطِّهْرَانِيُّ بِإِسْنَادِهِ أَعْلاهُ إِلَى وَهْبٍ يَقُولُ: إِنَّهُ قَرَأَ فِي بَعْضِ الْكُتُبِ: أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى حِينَ خَلَقَ الْخَلْقَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ حِينَ مَشَوْا عَلَى وَجْهِ الأَرْضِ وَجَرَتِ الأَنْهَارُ، قَالَ: أَنَا اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقْتُكَ بِقُوَّتِي وَأَتْقَنْتُكَ بِحِكْمَتِي، حَقٌّ قَضَائِي وَنَافِذٌ أَمْرِي، وَأَنَا الَّذِي أُفْنِيكَ كَمَا خَلَقْتُكَ، حَتَّى أَبْقَى كَمَا كُنْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ
