16549 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freedman of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq regarding his saying: "We have surely been promised this, we and our forefathers, from before," meaning: You have come to inform us that we will be resurrected after our death, even when we have become bones and fragments? And that will not happen.
His saying, the Exalted: "This is nothing but myths of the former people."
16550 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding his saying: "This is nothing but myths of the former people": The rhymed lies of the former people.
16551 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding his saying: "myths of the former people," meaning: The stories of the former people and their falsehoods. It was narrated from al-Dahhak something similar to that.
His saying, the Exalted: "Say, travel through the earth."
16552 - al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhallim narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "Say, travel through the earth," he said: They did not travel through the earth.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then observe how..." (the verse).
16553 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas narrated to us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding "Then observe how was the end of the criminals," he said: How wretched, by Allah, was the end of the criminals; Allah destroyed them and annihilated them, then turned them toward the Fire.
16554 - al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhallim narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, from al-Hasan regarding his saying: "Then observe how was the end of the criminals," he said: So that they may observe how Allah punished the people of Noah, the people of Lot, the people of Salih, and the nations whom Allah punished.
16555 - Musa ibn Harun al-Tusi informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Marwazi informed us, Shayban narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding his saying: "Then observe how was the end of the criminals," he said: The end of the predecessors and the nations before you. He said: It was an evil end; Allah granted them enjoyment for a little while, then they turned toward the Fire.
