His saying, the Exalted: "The criminals."

16556 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "The criminals," he said: The disbelievers.

His saying, the Exalted: "And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress."

16557 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And do not be in distress for what they plot," he says: In doubt.

16558 - My father narrated to us, Ibn Abi 'Umar narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, he said: Every "plot" (makr) in the Qur'an means a deed.

His saying, the Exalted: "And they say, 'When is this promise, if you should be truthful?'"

16559 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding "And they say, 'When is this promise, if you should be truthful?'" He said: The companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and may He be pleased with them, used to say: We have a day coming when we will find rest and ease. He said: The polytheists said: "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" meaning in denial.

His saying, the Exalted: "Say, 'Perhaps it is close behind you.'"

16560 - Abu Sa'id ibn Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan and Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, they said: Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "Perhaps it is close behind you" (radifa lakum), he said: It has approached you (iqtaraba lakum).

16561 - al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah al-Harawi narrated to us, Hajjaj informed us, from Ibn Najih, from Mujahid: "radifa" means "azifa" (has drawn near). It was also narrated from Qatadah, al-Dahhak, al-Suddi, and 'Ata' al-Khurasani similar to the statement of Ibn 'Abbas.

His saying, the Exalted: "And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty to the people."

16562 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Abi al-Hawari narrated to us, Rabah narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, Musa ibn Abi al-Sabah narrated to us regarding the saying of Allah: "And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty to the people."

١٦٥٥٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنْبَأَ بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: الْمُجْرِمِينَ قَالَ: الْكُفَّارُ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا تَكُنْ فِي ضَيْقٍ

١٦٥٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرٌ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ وَلا تَكُنْ فِي ضَيْقٍ مِمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ يَقُولُ: فِي شَكٍّ.

١٦٥٥٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: كُلُّ مَكْرٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ فَهُوَ عَمَلٌ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

١٦٥٥٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ قَالَ: قَالَ: أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَضِيَ عَنْهُمْ: إِنَّ لَنَا يَوْمًا نُوشِكُ أَنْ نَسْتَرِيحَ فِيهِ وَنَتَنَعَّمُ فِيهِ. قَالَ: الْمُشْرِكُونَ: مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ أَيْ تَكْذِيبًا.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قُلْ عَسَى أَنْ يكون ردف لَكُمْ

١٦٥٦٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ، وَحَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ قَالا: ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١» عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُمْ قَالَ: اقْتَرَبَ لَكُمْ.

١٦٥٦١ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْهَرَوِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ حَجَّاجٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ رَدِفَ أَزِفَ- وَرُوِيَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَالضَّحَّاكِ وَالسُّدِّيِّ وَعَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ نَحْوُ قَوْلِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ

١٦٥٦٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْحَوَارِيِّ، ثنا رَبَاحٌ، ثنا عَبْدُ الله ابن سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ أَبِي الصَّبَّاحِ فِي قول الله: إن ربك لذو فضل على الناس
