16600 - Al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan narrated to us, Ya'la narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Aban ibn Salih, who said: 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr was asked about the creature that emerges from under a rock at Ajyad. He said: "By Allah, if I were with them, or if I wished, I could strike with my staff the rock from under which the creature emerges." It was said: "And what would you do, O 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr?" He said: "It will face the East and let out a cry that will penetrate it, then it will face the Levant and let out a cry that will penetrate it, then it will face the West and let out a cry that will penetrate it, then it will face Yemen and let out a cry that will penetrate it. Then it will depart from Makkah and arrive at 'Usfan by morning." It was said: "Then what?" He said: "Then I do not know."

16601 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Raja' narrated to us, Fudayl ibn Marzuq narrated to us, from 'Atiyyah, who said: 'Abd Allah said: "The creature will emerge from a fissure in al-Safa, at the pace of a horse for three days, and two-thirds of it will not have emerged."

16602 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, 'Abd al-Razzaq reported to us, Ma'mar reported to us, from Qatadah, that Ibn 'Abbas said: "It is a creature with soft down and feathers; it has four legs, and it will emerge in some of the valleys of Tihamah."

16603 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Karim reported to us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil narrated to me that he heard his uncle, Wahb ibn Munabbih, saying: "'Aziz said: The angel came to me, and I said: 'Inform me of what remains of the world.' He said: 'I have no knowledge, and why do you ask me about what I do not know?' He said: 'I know that when the world comes to an end and the Hereafter draws near, the sign of that is that lying will increase, truthfulness will decrease, immorality will appear, righteousness will disappear, the earth will return to being barren of rivers, the sun will be seen following that from its setting place, the trees will drip blood, the storms will shift, the stones will speak, those who were not of the rank of royalty will rule, the birds will speak, and a creature will emerge from beneath Sodom that will speak to the people..."
