Tafsir Ibn Abi Hatim
Volume 9 · Page 141[Surah an-Naml (27): Verse 88]

Translation · EN

I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, "And all of them will come to Him humble (dakhirina)," say: The dakhir is the submissive and fearful one, for when a person is in fear, his only concern is to escape the matter he fears. Thus, when the Horn was blown, they were terrified, and there was no refuge for them from Allah.

His saying, the Exalted: "And you see the mountains, thinking them solid"

16634 - My father narrated to us, [he said]: Abu Salih narrated to us: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And you see the mountains, thinking them solid," he says: Standing firm.

16635 - 'Ubayd ibn Muhammad al-Hadrami informed us in what he wrote to me, [he said]: Abu al-Jumahir narrated to us: Sa'id narrated to me, from Qatadah regarding "And you see the mountains, thinking them solid," meaning: you think them fixed in their foundations, not moving, while they will pass like the passing of clouds.

His saying, the Exalted: "Passing like the passing of clouds"

16636 - It was read to Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn 'Uthman al-Dimashqi, [he said]: Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb ibn Shabur narrated to us: Abu Rafi' al-Madini, Isma'il ibn Rafi', informed us, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, from Abu Hurayrah, that he said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) narrated to us and said: "Allah will cause the mountains to move, and they will pass like the passing of clouds, then He will make them a mirage. The earth will be shaken with its inhabitants with a violent shaking, and the earth will be like a ship tossing in the sea, or like a lamp hanging from the Throne."

His saying, the Exalted and Majestic: "The work of Allah, who perfected all things"

16637 - My father narrated to us, [he said]: Abu Salih narrated to us: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "perfected all things," he says: Made everything precise. It was also narrated from al-Hasan, 'Ata' al-Khurasani, and al-Thawri the same.

16638 - My father narrated to us, [he said]: 'Abdullah ibn Raja' narrated to us: Isra'il informed us, from Abu Yahya, from Mujahid in His saying: "Perfected all things," he said: Enumerated everything.

16639 - Muhammad ibn Hassan al-Azraq narrated to us, [he said]: Abu al-Nadr narrated to us: Abu 'Aqil narrated to us, from Layth, from Mujahid regarding the saying of Allah: "The work of Allah, who perfected all things," he said: Made everything solid/firm."
