He will be made to stand before Allah the Exalted, and He will say: "My servant, how was your place, and how did you find your resting place?"

He will say: "O Lord, it is the worst resting place and the worst place." He will say: "Return My servant [to it]." He will say: "O Lord, I did not hope, when You brought me out of it, that You would return me to it." He will say: "Leave My servant."

His saying: "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred."

16652 - My father narrated to us: Abu 'Umar al-Duri narrated to us: Yahya ibn Abi Rawq narrated to us, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas: "To worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred," meaning Makkah.

• It was also narrated from Qatadah that it is Makkah.

16653 - My father narrated to us: Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us: 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred," [he said:] It is Mina.

His saying, the Exalted: "And He is the Lord of all things."

16654 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us: Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' narrated to us: 'Uthman ibn Sa'id narrated to us: Bishr ibn 'Umarah narrated to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abbas, he said: Gabriel, peace be upon him, said: "O Muhammad, to Allah belongs all creation: all the heavens and whoever is in them, and all the earths and whoever is in them, and whatever is between them, of that which is known and that which is not known."

His saying, the Exalted: "And I have been commanded to be of the Muslims."

16655 - My father narrated to us: Abu Salih narrated to me: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "The Muslims," he says: those who profess His oneness (muwahhidin).

His saying, the Exalted: "To recite the Quran. So whoever is guided is only guided for his own soul, and whoever strays, say...."

16656 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa: Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us: Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "And whoever strays," he says: has erred.
