Translation · EN

His saying: "from the side of the Mount a fire," he said to his family: "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire." This has already been explained.

16872 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us: al-'Abbas informed us: Yazid narrated to us: Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "Indeed, I have perceived a fire," meaning: I have sensed a fire. The Prophet of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was traveling when he was traveling, and it was in the winter.

His saying: "that I may bring you news from it."

16873 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us: 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us: Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, who said: 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abbas said: "That I may bring you news from it; and if I do not find news, I will bring you a burning brand."

16874 - My father narrated to us: Ibn Abi 'Umar narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu Sa'd, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: They were two (i.e., husband and wife) and they had lost their way. When he saw the fire, he said: "That I may bring you news from it," that I may find someone to guide me to the path.

His saying, Exalted is He: "or a burning brand from the fire."

16875 - My father narrated to us: Abu Salih narrated to us: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "A burning brand from the fire," he says: With a flame.

16876 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us: Shababah narrated to us: Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "A burning brand from the fire," the base of the tree is where the fire is at its end, and that is His saying: "or a burning brand from the fire."

His saying, Exalted is He: "from the edge of the blessed valley."

16877 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us: Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "From the edge of the blessed valley," at the Mount, to the right of Moses.

16878 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us: 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us: Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: When he came to it, he was called from the side of the blessed valley, from the tree, in the blessed ground.

16879 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us: 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, from Isra'il, from al-Suddi, from Abu Salih: He was called from the edge of the blessed valley in the blessed ground, from the tree. He said: The call was from the tree, and the call was from the heavens, and that is a matter of priority and sequence (in narration).
