when He has finished His creation and remains alone, Blessed and Exalted is He, and He says: "Where are the kings? Where are the tyrants? Where are the gods? I am the Lord, there is no lord besides Me; I am the King, there is no king besides Me; I am the Creator, there is no creator besides Me," among the matters by which He praises Himself. He said regarding that: "And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice."
17039 - Musa ibn Harun al-Tusi informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Marwazi narrated to us, Shayban ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Nahwi narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And the Day He will call them and say, 'Where are My partners whom you used to claim?'" He said: These are they. And regarding His saying: "Those upon whom the word has been justified"—he said: They are the jinn.
17040 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Those upon whom the word has been justified"—they are the devils.
His saying, Exalted is He: "Our Lord, these are the ones whom we led astray."
17041 - ‘Ubayd ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Hamzah informed us in what he wrote to me, Abu al-Jumahir narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "These are the ones whom we led astray"—we led them astray, the verse. He said: [They are] the children of Adam.
His saying: "And it will be said, 'Call upon your partners,' and they will call them, but they will not respond to them."
17042 - Musa ibn Harun al-Tusi informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Shayban ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And they will call them, but they will not respond to them" with anything good, and they will not return anything good to them.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And they will see the punishment," the verse.
17043 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "[they will be] guided"—he says: They will know.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And the Day He will call them and say, 'What answer did you give the messengers?'"
17044 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "The Day"—he said: The Day of Resurrection. And it was narrated from Qatadah the same.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And the news will be blinded to them that Day."
17045 - And by it, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And the news will be blinded to them that Day"—the proofs. And regarding His saying: "So they will not ask one another"—he said: About lineage.
حِينَ أَفْنَى خَلْقَهُ وَبَقِيَ وَحْدَهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَقَالَ: أَيْنَ الْمُلُوكُ أَيْنَ الْجَبَابِرَةُ؟ أَيْنَ الآلِهَةُ؟ أَنَا الرَّبُّ لَا رَبَّ غَيْرِي، أَنَا الْمَلِكُ لَا مَلِكَ غَيْرِي، أَنَا الْخَالِقُ لَا خَالِقَ غَيْرِي فِي أُمُورٍ أَثْنَاهَا عَلَى نَفْسِهِ، وَقَالَ فِي ذَلِكَ: وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ صِدْقًا وَعَدْلًا
١٧٠٣٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ الطُّوسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ النَّحْوِيُّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ قَالَ: هَؤُلاء، وَفِي قَوْلِهِ: قَالَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ قَالَ: هُمُ الْجِنُّ.
١٧٠٤٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ:
الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ هُمُ الشَّيَاطِينُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: رَبَّنَا هَؤُلاءِ الَّذِينَ أَغْوَيْنَا
١٧٠٤١ - أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَمْزَةَ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَبُو الْجُمَاهِرِ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: هَؤُلاءِ الَّذِينَ أَغْوَيْنَا أَغْوَيْنَاهُمْ الآية. قَالَ: بَنُي آدَمَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَقِيلَ ادْعُوا شُرَكَاءَكُمْ فَدَعُوهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَهُمْ
١٧٠٤٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ الطُّوسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: فَدَعُوهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَهُمْ بِخَيْرٍ وَلَمْ يَرُدُّوا عَلَيْهِمْ خَيْرًا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ورأوا العذاب الآيَةَ
١٧٠٤٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: يَهْتَدُونَ يَقُولُ: يَعْرِفُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَا أَجَبْتُمُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
١٧٠٤٤ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قوله: يوم قَالَ: يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ. وَرُوِيَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الأَنْبَاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ
١٧٠٤٥ - وَبِهِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَوْلُهُ: فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الأَنْبَاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحُجَجُ، وَفِي قَوْلِهِ: فَهُمْ لا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ قَالَ: بِالأَنْسَابِ.
