Volume 9 · Page 211His saying (the Exalted): 'And unto Him you shall be returned'

Translation · EN

Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, the Most High, upon the throne of majesty and light, and He will judge between the servants with a judgment in which there is no injustice, and after which there is no further oppression. He will grant justice to the servant against the master, and to the lowly against the noble, and He will say to His creation when He gathers them: "Look at whom you disbelieved, and whose right you denied, and whose word you called a lie. And look at what I have prepared for you; this is sovereignty, bliss, splendor, and joy, and this is the Zaqqum, the scalding water, and the long woe." And the people will be standing for the Lord of the worlds.

His saying, Exalted is He: "And to Him you will be returned."

17060 - ‘Isam ibn Rawwad al-‘Asqalani narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja‘far narrated to us, from al-Rabi‘, from Abu al-‘Aliyah regarding "And to Him you will be returned"—he said: You will be returned to Him after life.

His saying, Exalted is He: "Say, 'Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous.'"

17061 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, who said: Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "continuous" (sarmadan)—he says: Everlasting.

17062 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding "continuous" (sarmadan)—everlasting, without interruption.

17063 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, from Sa‘id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Say, 'Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous'" until the Day of Resurrection—meaning: everlasting until the Day of Resurrection.

His saying, Exalted is He: "What deity other than Allah could bring you light?" the verse.

17064 - And by the same chain, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "What deity other than Allah could bring you light?"—meaning: with daylight. "Then will you not hear?"

His saying, Exalted is He: "Say, 'Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the day'" the verse.

17065 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali ibn Mihran narrated to us, ‘Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding "you rest therein" (taskunun)—you abide therein.

His saying, Exalted is He: "And of His mercy" until His saying: "and that you may seek from His bounty."

17066 - By the same chain, from al-Suddi regarding "and that you may seek from His bounty"—he means: trade.
