Then we shall say: Indeed, Moses has done that to her." He said: So they gathered and brought the prostitute, and they detained her. And Moses said: "Indeed, Allah commands you to do such and such; regarding one who steals, his hand should be cut off." They said: "Even if it were you?"
He said: "Even if it were I." They said: "What is upon the adulterer if he commits adultery?" He said: "Stoning." They said: "Even if it were you?" He said: "Even if it were I." They said: "Then you have committed adultery." He said: "I?" And he was distressed by that. He said:
So they sent for the woman, and when she came, Moses adjured her by Allah and asked her by the One who parted the sea for the Children of Israel and sent down the Torah upon Moses, to tell the truth. She said: "Since you have adjured me, I bear witness that you are innocent and that you are the Messenger of Allah." And she said: "They sent to me and gave me my fee on the condition that I slander you with my own self." He said: So Moses fell down for Allah, prostrating and weeping. Then Allah revealed to him: "What makes you weep? I have commanded the earth to obey you, so command it whatever you wish."

He only became insolent toward them due to the abundance of his wealth and his children." Allah said: "Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations..."
