The second interpretation:
17111 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, from Ash‘ath, from al-Hasan regarding "And do not forget your share of the world"—he said: Give the surplus and keep what suffices you.
17112 - My father narrated to us, al-Qasim ibn Salam ibn Miskin narrated to us, my father narrated to us, saying: I asked al-Hasan about this verse: "And do not forget your share of the world"—he said: He commanded him to take from his wealth the amount of his living.
17113 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And do not forget your share of the world"—he said: Be self-sufficient with what Allah has made lawful for you.
17114 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi reported to us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, saying: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah: "And do not forget your share of the world"—he said: Do not forget to send forth from your world for your Hereafter, for you shall only find in your Hereafter what you sent forth from the world out of that which Allah has provided for you.
17115 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu al-Tahir narrated to us, Ashhab narrated to us, saying: Malik was asked, "What is it?" He said: That he lives, eats, and drinks without being constrained in his opinion.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And do good as Allah has done good to you"
17116 - My father narrated to us, al-Qasim ibn Salam ibn Miskin narrated to us, my father narrated to me, saying: I asked al-Hasan about this verse: "And do not forget your share of the world and do good as Allah has done good to you"—he said: He commanded him to take from his wealth the amount of his living and to send forth what is besides that for his Hereafter.
17117 - My father narrated to us, Hammad ibn Humayd al-‘Asqalani narrated to us, Abu ‘Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, from Isra’il Abu ‘Abd Allah, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And do not forget your share of the world and do good as Allah has done good to you"—he said: Retain a year’s provisions and give in charity what remains.
17118 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ narrated to us, from Sa‘id, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan regarding "And do not forget your share of the world and do good as Allah has done good to you"—he said: That is, what Allah has made lawful for you of it, for you have in it sufficiency and enough.
الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
١٧١١١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَلا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ: أَعْطِ الْفَضْلَ وَأَمْسِكْ مَا يُبْلِغُكَ.
١٧١١٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ سَلامِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ، ثنا أَبِي قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ الْحَسَنَ، عَنْ هَذِهِ الآيَةِ وَلا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ: أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ مِنْ مَالِهِ قَدْرَ عَيْشِهِ.
١٧١١٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ: اسْتَغْنِ بِمَا أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ لَكَ.
١٧١١٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَلا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ: لَا تَنْسَ أَنْ تُقَدِّمَ مِنْ دُنْيَاكَ لآخِرَتِكَ، فَإِنَّمَا تَجِدُ فِي آخِرَتِكَ مَا قَدَّمْتَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا مِمَّا رَزَقَكَ اللَّهِ.
١٧١١٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، ثنا أَشْهَبُ قَالَ: سُئِلَ مَالِكٌ، مَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ: أَنْ يَعِيشَ وَيَأْكُلَ وَيَشْرَبَ غَيْرَ مُضَيَّقٍ عَلَيْهِ فِي رَأْيٍ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ
١٧١١٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ سَلامِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ الْحَسَنَ، عَنْ هَذِهِ الآيَةِ وَلا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ: أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ مِنْ مَالِهِ قَدْرَ عِيشَتِهِ، وَأَنْ يُقَدِّمَ مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ لآخِرَتِهِ.
١٧١١٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الْعَسْقَلانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عِصَامِ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ: احْبِسْ قُوتَ سَنَةٍ، وَتَصَدَّقْ بِمَا بَقِيَ.
١٧١١٨ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَلا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ: أَيْ مَا أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ لَكَ مِنْهَا، فَإِنَّ لَكَ فِيهَا غِنًى وَكِفَايَةً.
