His saying, Exalted is He: "Did he not know that Allah..." up to His saying: "The criminals will not be questioned about their sins."

17126 - Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Malik al-Susi narrated to us, 'Abd al-Wahhab al-Khaffaf narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "The criminals will not be questioned about their sins," he says: The polytheists will not be questioned about their sins; they will be punished and will not be brought to account.

17127 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Dashtaki narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas regarding His saying: "The criminals will not be questioned about their sins," he said: They will not be asked about their enumeration, he says: [It is not said to them] 'Bring them [your records] and explain them to us.' Rather, they were given them in books; they did not complain of injustice on that day, but they complained of the enumeration.

17128 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn al-Junayd narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr ibn 'Ali ibn Muqaddam narrated to us, al-Dahhak ibn Makhlad narrated to us, Musa ibn 'Ubaydah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b: "The criminals will not be questioned about their sins"—those who were before them—as to why they were destroyed and about their dwelling, that they might take heed, but they shall remain in the state of taking heed [of them] that they were in.

17129 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tihrani reported to us in what he wrote to me, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "The criminals will not be questioned about their sins," he said: They shall enter the Fire without reckoning.

17130 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "The criminals will not be questioned about their sins," he said: It is like His saying: "The criminals will be known by their marks," [being] black-faced and blue-eyed. The angels will not ask about them, as they have already recognized them.

His saying, Exalted is He: "So he went out before his people in his adornment."

17131 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Yaman and Ibn Idris and Abu Khalid narrated to us, from 'Uthman ibn al-Aswad, from Mujahid regarding "So he went out before his people in his adornment," he said: He went out on white mules with purple saddles upon them, wearing saffron-dyed garments. The [word] 'al-siyaq' belongs to Abu Khalid.

17132 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Muhammad al-Warraq narrated to us, from Talhah, from 'Ata' regarding "So he went out before his people in his adornment," he said: In two red garments.
