Translation · EN

17142 - It was mentioned from al-Musayyab ibn Wadih, al-Jarrah ibn Malih al-Buhra'i narrated to us, from al-Zubaydi regarding His saying: "So he went out before his people in his adornment," he said: He had on red garments and two white leather socks.

17143 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mani' narrated to us, Khalid ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Bazzar narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Muslim al-Ta'ifi, from 'Abdah ibn Abi Lubabah, he said: The first person to dye [garments] black was Korah (Qarun).

His saying: "Those who desire the life of the world said"

17144 - Musa ibn Harun al-Tusi reported to us in what he wrote to me, al-Hasan ibn Muhammad al-Marwazi narrated to us, Shayban narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Those who desire the life of the world," [they were] a people from among the people of monotheism who said: "Oh, that we had the like of what has been given to Korah."

His saying: "Oh, that we had the like of what has been given to Korah"

17145 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "So he went out before his people in his adornment," and when his people saw him in his adornment, they said: "Oh, that we had the like of what has been given to Korah."

His saying: "Indeed, he is a possessor of great fortune"

[The first interpretation]

17146 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us, a man whose name he mentioned narrated to us, Nasr narrated to us, from al-Dahhak regarding "a possessor of great fortune," meaning: a great rank.

The second interpretation:

17147 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding "Indeed, he is a possessor of great fortune," he said: Possessor of a great portion (or destiny).

His saying: "But those who had been given knowledge said: 'Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for him who believes'"

17148 - And through the same chain from al-Suddi, meaning His saying: "But those who had been given knowledge said," he said: Those who desire the Hereafter [said]: "Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for him who believes."
