17176 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah al-Bazzar narrated to us, Isma‘il ibn Zakariyya narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn ‘Awn al-Khurasani, from ‘Ikrimah regarding "We assign it to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth," he said: We assign the Home of the Hereafter to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth, in the presence of its rulers and kings.

17178 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Muslim al-Batin regarding "do not desire exaltedness upon the earth," he said: Exaltedness is arrogance without right."
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَوْلا أَنْ مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا وَيْكَأَنَّهُ لا يفلح الكافرون

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: نَجْعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوًّا
١٧١٧٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّارُ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَوْنٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ نَجْعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوًّا فِي الأَرْضِ قَالَ: نَجْعَلُ الدَّارَ الآخِرَةَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوًّا فِي الأَرْضِ، عِنْدَ سَلاطِينِهَا وَمُلُوكِهَا.
