Translation · EN

17198 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Nasr ibn ‘Ali reported to us, Nuh ibn Qays reported to us, ‘Awn ibn Shaddad said: Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, sent Noah to his people when he was three hundred and fifty years old. He called them for a thousand years minus fifty years, and then he lived for three hundred and fifty years after that.

[His saying, the Exalted: "Then the Flood seized them"]

[The first interpretation]

17199 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Sa‘id al-Asbahani reported to us, Yahya ibn Thaman reported to us, from al-Minhal ibn Khalifah, from al-Hajjaj, from al-Hakim ibn Mayta, from ‘A’ishah, from the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding his saying: "Then the Flood seized them," he said: The flood is death.

The second interpretation:

17200 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith reported to us, Bishr reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding his saying: "The flood," he said: Rain by night and day for eight days.

It is narrated from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr and al-Suddi that they said: The rain.

The third interpretation:

17201 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn al-Mughirah reported to us, Jarir reported to us, from Qabus, from his father, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding his saying: "The flood," a command from the command of your Lord. Then he recited: "Then there circled about it a visitor from your Lord."

The fourth interpretation:

17202 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Harithi reported to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak: The flood is the drowning.

The fifth interpretation:

17203 - It was mentioned from Abu ‘Asim, from ‘Isa ibn Maymun, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: The flood is the water and the plague.

17204 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Wahb ibn ‘Atiyyah al-Dimashqi reported to us, al-Haytham ibn ‘Imran al-‘Absi reported to us, he said: I heard Isma‘il ibn ‘Ubayd saying: The flood that drowned the people was in the month of Nisan.

١٧١٩٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، ثنا عَوْنُ ابن شَدَّادٍ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَرْسَلَ نوحا إلى قومه وهو ابن خمسين وثلاثمائة سَنَةٍ فَدَعَاهُمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا، ثم عاش بعد ذلك خمسين وثلاثمائة سنة.

١٧١٩٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بن ثمان، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ ابْنِ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنِ الحكيم بن ميتا، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ: فَأَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوفَانُ قَالَ: الطُّوفَانُ: الْمَوْتُ.

الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:

١٧٢٠٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، ثنا بِشْرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عباس قوله: الطُّوفَانُ قَالَ: مَطَرٌ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ.

وَرُوِيَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ وَالسُّدِّيِّ قَالا: الْمَطَرُ.

الْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:

١٧٢٠١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ قَابُوسَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: الطُّوفَانَ أَمْرٌ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّكَ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ.

الْوَجْهُ الرَّابِعُ:

١٧٢٠٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحَارِثِيُّ، عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ الطُّوفَانُ الْغَرَقُ.

الْوَجْهُ الْخَامِسُ:

١٧٢٠٣ - ذُكِرَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ الطُّوفَانُ الْمَاءُ وَالطَّاعُونُ.

١٧٢٠٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ الْعَبْسِيُّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ يَقُولُ: كَانَ الطُّوفَانُ الَّذِي أَغْرَقَ النَّاسَ فِي نيسان.
