His saying, the Exalted: "While they were wrongdoers"
17205 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Minjab reported to us, Bishr reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "The wrongdoers" are the disbelievers.
His saying, the Exalted: "So We saved him and the companions of the ship"
17206 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, ‘Ali ibn ‘Uthman reported to us, Dawud ibn Abi al-Furat reported to us, from ‘Alya’ ibn Ahmar, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: There were eighty men with Noah on the ship, along with their families, and they were on the ship for one hundred and fifty days.
His saying, the Exalted: "And We made it a sign for the worlds"
17207 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid reported to us, Yazid reported to us, Sa‘id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And We made it a sign for the worlds," he said: Allah left it as a sign for the worlds upon the highest part of al-Judi. "For the worlds," i.e., for the people.
His saying, the Exalted: "And Abraham, when he said to his people: Worship Allah and fear Him"
17208 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, ‘Amr ibn Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi, who said: Abraham, peace be upon him, was born, and every day that passed for him was as if it were a week, and the week as a month, due to the swiftness of his youth. Abraham, peace be upon him, grew up, and then he came to his people and called them. He said: "O my people, I am innocent of what you associate with Him."
His saying, the Exalted: "That is better for you, if you should know"
17209 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr reported to us, Ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ narrated to me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "Better for you," meaning: more superior for you.
His saying, the Exalted: "You only worship, instead of Allah, idols"
17210 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid reported to us, Yazid reported to us, he said: I heard Sa‘id saying, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Idols," meaning: statues.
