17225 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Dashtaki reported to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja‘far reported to us, from his father, from al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas regarding His saying: "Have they not seen how Allah originates the creation and then repeats it?" He said: The creation of their own selves, then He returns it to the dust. Then they traveled on the earth and saw how Allah originates the creation in generations that have passed and perished.

His saying, the Exalted: "Say, 'Travel through the land'"

17226 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad ibn Musa ibn Muhallim narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi informed us, ‘Abbad ibn Mansur reported to us, I asked al-Hasan regarding His saying: "Travel through the land," he said: They did not travel through the land.

His saying, the Exalted: "Then observe how He began the creation."

17227 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ reported to us, he said: I heard Sa‘id, from Qatadah: "Then observe how He began the creation," [that is] Allah’s creation of the heavens and the earth.

His saying, the Exalted: "Then Allah will produce the final creation."

17228 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ reported to us, he said: I heard Sa‘id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Then Allah will produce the final creation," he said: The resurrection after death.

His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed Allah is over all things competent."

Its interpretation from Ibn Ishaq has preceded.

His saying, the Exalted: "He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him..." [the verse].

17229 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Khalid reported to us, he said: I heard Sufyan saying regarding His saying: "He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills," he said: He forgives whom He wills for the grave [sins], and He punishes whom He wills for the minor [sins].

His saying, the Exalted: "And you will not cause failure."

17230 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, Abu Mu‘awiyah reported to us, Hisham ibn ‘Urwah reported to us, from Wahb ibn Kan‘an, from Ibn al-Zubayr: "Cause failure" [mu‘jizin]—meaning hindering [muthabbitin].
