His saying, the Exalted: "in the worldly life."
17240 - My father narrated to us, Yazid ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz reported to us, Abu Yusuf—meaning Ya‘qub al-Qass—reported to us, from Yahya ibn Ya‘qub Abu Talib, from Hammad ibn Sulayman, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas who said: The world, in its entirety, compared to the Hereafter, is seven thousand years. Six thousand years have already passed, and what remains is not sixty. Is there anything remaining of the world that has not been delayed? Abu Talib said: "In terms of years."
His saying, the Exalted: "Then on the Day of Resurrection."
17241 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Usamah reported to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak reported to us, from Ma‘mar, from Qatadah, from Zurarah ibn Awfa, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The duration of the Day of Resurrection for the believer will be no longer than the time between the Dhuhr (noon) and ‘Asr (afternoon) prayers.
His saying, the Exalted: "some of you will deny others, and some of you will curse others."
17242 - Muhammad ibn Isma‘il al-Ahmasi—[i.e.,] Abu ‘Asim al-Thaqafi, al-Rabi‘ ibn Isma‘il ibn ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id ibn Ja‘dah ibn Hubayrah al-Makhzumi—narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, from Umm Hani’, the sister of ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with both of them, she said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to me: "Shall I inform you that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, will gather the first and the last on the Day of Resurrection in one flat expanse? Who knows where the two sides are?" She said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." Then a caller will call out from beneath the Throne: "O people of Tawhid (monotheism)!" They will crane their necks—Abu ‘Asim said: They will raise their heads—then he will call out: "O people of Tawhid!" Then he will call out for the third time: "O people of Tawhid, Allah has pardoned you." He said: People will rise, some having been attached to others due to the injustices of the world—meaning the grievances—then he will call out: "O people of Tawhid, let some of you pardon others, and upon Allah is the reward."
His saying, the Exalted: "and your abode will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers."
17243 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr reported to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr who said: He then clarified their dwelling place, saying: "Their abode is Hell."
