"Have you considered if there were ten households of Muslims among them, would you spare them?" The angels said: "There are not ten households in it, nor five, nor four, nor three, nor two."

17280 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Mansur reported to us, from al-Hakam ibn ‘Abd al-Malik, from Qatadah, who said: The town of Lot, when Gabriel lifted it, contained four hundred thousand people.

17281 - Muhammad ibn Sa‘d ibn ‘Atiyyah informed me in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my paternal uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from my grandfather, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding His saying: "He said, 'Indeed, within it is Lot.' They said, 'We are more knowing of who is within it,'" he said: So Abraham (peace be upon him) grieved for Lot and his household, and said: "Indeed, within it is Lot." They said: "We are more knowing of who is within it."

17282 - My father narrated to us, ‘Abdah ibn Sulayman al-Marrudhi reported to us, Ibn al-Mubarak reported to us, Ma‘mar informed us, who said: Qatadah recited: "Indeed, within it is Lot. They said, 'We are more knowing of who is within it.'" He said: You will not find a believer except that he protects the believer wherever he may be.

His saying, the Exalted: "We will surely save him and his family, except his wife," ... the verse.

17283 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Kathir reported to us, Sulayman ibn Kathir reported to us, his brother, from Husayn, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: When the messengers of Allah entered upon Lot (peace be upon him), Lot thought they were guests. He said: So he brought his daughters out by the road and placed his guests between him and his daughters. He said: And his people came to him, rushing towards him, so he said: "These are my daughters; they are purer for you," up to His saying: "or take refuge in a strong support."
