17334 - My father narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Yusuf al-Tinnisi reported to us, Yahya ibn Hamzah reported to us, from al-Awza‘i, who said: It has reached me from Ibn ‘Abbas that he said: The earth consists of seven parts; six parts contain Gog and Magog, and one part contains the rest of creation.

17335 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn Waqid reported to us, Damrah reported to us, from al-Awza‘i, who said: ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr said: The world is a travel distance of five hundred years; four hundred are wasteland, and one hundred is inhabited. Of that, a travel distance of one year is in the hands of the Muslims.

17336 - My father narrated to us, Nasr ibn ‘Ali reported to us, al-Asma‘i reported to us, my father reported to us, Sulayman ibn Sa‘id reported to us, al-Asma‘i reported to us, from al-Namir ibn Hilal, from Qatadah, from Abu al-Khuld, who said: The earth is twenty-four thousand farsakhs; the Sudan is twelve, the Romans are eight, Persia is three, and the Arabs have one. The wording belongs to Nasr.

17337 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Hatim ibn Sulayman al-Muzani reported to us, al-Hakam reported to us, from Sa‘id ibn Bashir, from Qatadah, who said: It was mentioned to me that the earth is twenty-four thousand farsakhs; twelve thousand belong to the land of India, eight thousand to China, three thousand to the Maghrib, and one thousand to the Arabs.
