tasting death. Verily, in Allah there is consolation for every affliction and a replacement for everything that is lost. So, rely upon Allah and hope in Him, for the truly afflicted is he who is deprived of the reward. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Ja'far ibn Muhammad said: My father informed me that 'Ali ibn Abi Talib said: "Do you know who this is? This is al-Khidr, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."
His saying, the Almighty: "Then to Us you will be returned."

17407 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Makhlad Abu Jalas narrated to us, Aban ibn Taghlib narrated to me, he said: Al-Rabi' ibn Khuthaym used to say: "This phrase is in [Surat] al-Nahl: 'Those who emigrated for the cause of Allah after they had been wronged, We will surely give them a good place in the world,' and we read in [Surat] al-'Ankabut: 'We will surely lodge them in Paradise in chambers,' [meaning] the reward is in the Hereafter and the lodging is in the world."
His saying, the Almighty: "...in Paradise chambers."
17408 - My father narrated to us, Safwan the Mu'adhdhin narrated to us, al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salam Abu Salam narrated to us, from Zayd—meaning ibn Salam—from his grandfather Abu Salam al-Aswad, Abu Mu'anig al-Ash'ari narrated to me that Abu Malik al-Ash'ari narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, told him that in Paradise there are chambers whose outside can be seen from their inside and their inside from their outside. Allah prepared them for whoever feeds the hungry, speaks kindly, prays and fasts consistently, and stands [in prayer] at night while the people are sleeping.
His saying, the Almighty: "Beneath which rivers flow."

Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding "Beneath which rivers flow," he says: [Meaning] the rivers are beneath the trees in the gardens.
ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ
إِنَّ فِي اللَّهِ عَزَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ مُصِيبَةٍ، وَخَلَفًا مِنْ كُلِّ مَا فَاتَ فَبِاللَّهِ فَثِقُوا وَإِيَّاهُ فَارْجُوا فَإِنَّ الْمُصَابَ مَنْ حُرِمَ الثَّوَابَ، وَالسَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ. قَالَ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي أَنَّ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ: تَدْرُونَ مَنْ هَذَا؟ هَذَا الْخَضِرُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

١٧٤٠٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا مَخْلَدٌ أَبُو جَلاسٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبَانٌ بْنُ تَغْلِبَ قَالَ: كَانَ الرَّبِيعِ بْنُ خُيْثَمٍ يَقُولُ: هَذَا الْحَرْفُ فِي النَّحْلِ. الَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا فِي اللَّهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَنَقْرَأُ فِي الْعَنْكَبُوتِ: لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا:
الثَّوَابُ فِي الآخِرَةِ وَالتَّبَوُّءُ فِي الدُّنْيَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا
١٧٤٠٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا صَفْوَانُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلامٍ أَبِي سَلامٍ، عَنِ الجنة زَيْدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلامٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي سَلامٍ الأَسْوَدِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مُعَانِقٍ الأَشْعَرِيُّ أَنَّ أَبَا مَالِكٍ الأَشْعَرِيّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا يُرَى ظَاهِرُهَا مِنْ بَاطِنِهَا وَبَاطِنُهَا مِنْ ظَاهِرِهَا أَعَدَّهَا إله لمن أطعم الطعام وأطاب الْكَلامَ، وَتَابَعَ الصَّلاةَ وَالصِّيَامَ وَقَامَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّاسُ نِيَامٌ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ يَعْنِي تَحْتَهَا الأَنْهَارُ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرِ فِي الْبَسَاتِينِ.
