His saying, the Almighty: "Everlasting therein, excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers."

17410 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Mufaddal ibn Musa: Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil regarding His saying: "Excellent is the reward of the workers," he says: The reward of those who work in obedience to Allah is Paradise.
17411 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Ibn Hashim, and Muhammad ibn 'Amr Junayj narrated to us: Salamah ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq [said regarding] "Excellent is the reward of the workers": It is the reward of the obedient.
His saying, the Almighty: "Those who have been patient."
17412 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us: Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me: 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding "Those who have been patient," meaning: Upon the command of Allah.

The saying of 'Umar: "Patience is of two types."
And the saying of Sa'id ibn Jubayr: "Patience is the slave's acknowledgement."

17413 - My father narrated to us: Abu Salih narrated to us: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And upon their Lord they rely," he said: They do not hope in anyone other than Him.
His saying, the Almighty: "And how many a creature that does not carry its [own] provision, Allah provides for it and for you."
17414 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Razzaq al-Harawi and Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us: al-Jarrah ibn al-Minhal al-Jazawi narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn 'Umar, he said: I went out with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and when we entered some of the orchards of the Ansar, he began picking fruit and eating, then he said to me: "O 'Umar, why do you not eat?" I said: O Messenger of Allah, I cannot relish it. He said: "I desire the food, and this is the fourth morning that I have not tasted food, nor have I found it. If I wished, I would have prayed to my Lord and He would have given me the like of the kingdom of Caesar and Chosroes. So what will become of you, O son of 'Umar, when you remain among a people who hoard their year's provision and [their] certainty weakens?" By Allah, we did not leave our place until [the verse] was revealed: "And how many a creature that does not carry its [own] provision..."
