15963 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying]: al-Haytham ibn Yaman narrated to us, [saying]: al-Hakam narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: 'And if We had sent it down upon some of the non-Arabs,' [and] al-Muqaddami narrated to us, [saying]: Mu'ammal narrated to us, from Sufyan [who] said: One who heard Mujahid say regarding 'And if We had sent it down upon some of the non-Arabs': [It means] the beasts of the non-Arabs.
His saying (the Exalted): 'Then he recited it to them'
15964 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Ibrahim ibn Musa narrated to us, [saying]: Ibn Abi Za'idah informed us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujahid: 'Then he recited it to them,' [meaning] Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).
His saying (the Exalted): 'They would not be believers in it'
15965 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying]: al-Muqaddami narrated to us, [saying]: Mu'ammal narrated to us, from Sufyan [who] said: One who heard Mujahid say regarding 'Then he recited it to them, they would not be believers in it': They would not believe, just as the beasts of the non-Arabs would not believe if it were recited to them; they would not be believers in it.
15966 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying]: Mahmud ibn Khalid narrated to us, [saying]: 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-Wahid narrated to us, from al-Awza'i [who] said: I heard [someone] regarding the saying of Allah: 'And if We had sent it down upon some of the non-Arabs. Then he recited it to them, they would not be believers in it,' [saying]: Because if He had sent it down upon some of the non-Arabs, they would not have been believers in it, while they find in the scriptures of the ancients that he [the Prophet] would be sent with an Arabic tongue.
His saying (the Exalted): 'Likewise'
15967 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, [saying]: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, [saying]: 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: 'Likewise' [meaning]: In this way.
His saying (the Exalted): 'We have caused it to enter'
15968 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Hudbah ibn Khalid narrated to us, [saying]: Hammam narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding 'Likewise We have caused it to enter,' [who] said: We have placed it.
15989 - Yahya ibn 'Abdaka al-Qazwini narrated to us, [saying]: Khalid ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Makhzumi narrated to us, [saying]: Sufyan narrated to us, from Humayd al-Tawil, from Anas ibn Malik regarding His saying: 'Likewise We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the criminals,' [who] said: Shirk (polytheism). It was also narrated from al-Hasan and 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam similar to the saying of Anas.
١٥٩٦٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ يَمَانَ، ثنا الْحَكَمُ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَاهُ عَلَى بَعْضِ الأَعْجَمِينَ، ثنا الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا مُؤَمَّلٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ مجاهدا يقول: لو نَزَّلْنَاهُ عَلَى بَعْضِ الأَعْجَمِينَ
قَالَ: دَوَابُّ الْعَجَمِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ
١٥٩٦٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: مَا كَانُوا بِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ
١٥٩٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا مُؤَمَّلٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ مُجَاهِدًا يَقُولُ: فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ كَمَا لَا يُؤْمِنُ دَوَابُّ الْعَجَمِ، لَوْ قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ.
١٥٩٦٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَاهُ عَلَى بَعْضِ الأَعْجَمِينَ. فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ لأَنَّهُ لَوْ أَنْزَلَهُ عَلَى بَعْضِ الأَعْجَمِينَ مَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ وَهُمْ يَجِدُونَهُ فِي زُبُرِ الأَوَّلِينَ أَنَّهُ يُبْعَثُ بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: كَذَلِكَ
١٥٩٦٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: كَذَلِكَ يَعْنِي: هَكَذَا.
قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: سَلَكْنَاهُ
١٥٩٦٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا همام، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ كَذَلِكَ سَلَكْنَاهُ قَالَ: جَعَلْنَاهُ.
١٥٩٨٩ - حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدَكَ الْقَزْوِينِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: كَذَلِكَ سَلَكْنَاهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ قَالَ: الشِّرْكُ. وَرَوِيَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ مِثْلُ قَوْلِ أَنَسٍ.
