Rather, he was a firm, silent man, deep in thought and profound in reflection. He never slept during the day, and no one ever saw him spitting, clearing his throat, urinating, defecating, bathing, fidgeting, or laughing. He would not repeat any speech he uttered unless he was stating a piece of wisdom that he was asked to repeat. He had married and had children, but they died and he did not weep for them. He would frequent the authorities and visit the wise to look, reflect, and take heed, and it was through this that he was given what he was given. (3)
17538 - From Abu Musa al-Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Luqman said to his son while admonishing him: “O my son, beware of begging, for it is a source of fear by night and humiliation by day.” (4)
