the measure of which is fifty thousand years? He replied: I only asked you to inform me. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: They are two days which Allah mentioned in His Book, and Allah knows best about them. I dislike saying concerning the Book of Allah that which I do not know. Then, time passed with its vicissitudes until I sat with Ibn al-Musayyib (may Allah be pleased with him). Someone asked him about it, and he did not inform him and did not know. I said: Shall I inform you of what I had brought from Ibn Abbas? He said: Yes. So I informed him, and he said to the questioner: This is Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both); he refused to speak about it, and he is more knowledgeable than I am (1).
17823 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: 'the measure of which is a thousand years,' he said: The day will not reach half of its duration, in terms of the measure of one of the days of this world, until He judges between the servants. Thus, the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of the Fire enter the Fire. Had it been left to other than Him, it would not have been finished in fifty thousand years (2).
[His saying: Who perfected everything He created]
17824 - From Ibn Abbas from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) regarding His saying: 'Who perfected everything He created,' he said: Does it mean that He made it beautiful? 'The monkeys are not beautiful, but He perfected their creation' (3).
17825 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: 'Who perfected everything He created,' he said: He fashioned it (4).
17826 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: 'Who perfected everything He created,' he said: He made the dog beautiful in its creation (5).
17827 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: 'Who perfected everything He created,' he said: He perfected the creation of everything, the ugly and the beautiful, and the snakes and the scorpions, and everything that He created, while others cannot perfect anything of that (6).
17828 - From Mujahid (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: 'Who perfected everything He created,' he said: He made it precise. He did not place the human in the form of a donkey, nor the donkey in the form of a human (7).
17829 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he was asked about two souls whose deaths occurred at the same

كان مقداره خمسين ألف سنة؟ فقال: إنما سألتك لتخبرني، فقال ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما: هما يومان ذكرهما الله في كتابه. والله أعلم بهما، وأكره أن أقول في كتاب الله ما لا أعلم، فضرب الدهر من ضرباته حتى جلست إلى ابن المسيب رضي الله عنه. فسأله عنها إنسان، فلم يخبر، ولم يدر، فقلت: ألا أخبرك بما أحضرت من ابن عباس؟ قال: بلى. فأخبرته، فقال للسائل: هذا ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما أبى أن يقول فيها، وهو أعلم مني «١» .
١٧٨٢٣ - عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما في قوله: كان مقداره ألف سنة قال: لا ينتصف النهار في مقدار يوم من أيام الدنيا في ذلك اليوم حتى يقضي بين العباد، فينزل أهل الجنة الجنة، وأهل النار النار، ولو كان إلى غيره لم يفرغ من ذلك خمسين ألف سنة «٢» .
[قوله تعالى: أحسن كل شيء خلقه]
١٧٨٢٤ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قوله: أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خلقه قال: أما أن آست: «القردة ليست بحسنة، ولكنه أحكم خلقها» «٣» .
١٧٨٢٥ - عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما في قوله: أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خلقه قال: صورته «٤» .
١٧٨٢٦ - عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما في قوله: أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ فجعل الكلب في خلقه حسنًا «٥» .
١٧٨٢٧ - عن ابن عباس في قوله: أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ قال: أحسن بخلق كل شيء القبيح والحسن، والحيات والعقارب، وكل شيء مما خلق، وغيره لا يحسن شيئًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ «٦» .
١٧٨٢٨ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شيء خلقه قال:
اتقن. لم يركب الإنسان في صورة الحمار، ولا الحمار في صورة الإنسان «٧» .
١٧٨٢٩ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّهُ سئل عن نفسين اتفق موتهما في
