Translation · EN

17664 - From Ja'far ibn Muhammad (may Allah be pleased with him): His wives are treated the same as us in terms of reward and punishment (1).

[His saying, the Almighty: 'You are not like any of the women']

It is reported as Hasan from Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: 'You are not like any of the women'—he said: Like any of the women of this community (2).

17666 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: 'O wives of the Prophet, you are not like any...' to the verse—he says: You are the wives of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and with him you observe the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and the revelation that comes to him from the heaven, and you are more entitled to piety than all other women. He refers to His saying: '...All-Knowing of all things.' From Mujahid (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: 'Then he in whose heart is a disease will covet'—he means adultery (3).

His saying, the Almighty: 'Then do not be soft in speech'

17667 - From al-Suddi (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: 'Then do not be soft in speech'—he said: Do not speak lewdly (4).

His saying, the Almighty: 'Then he in whose heart is a disease will covet'

17668 - From 'Ikrimah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: 'Then he in whose heart is a disease will covet'—he said: The lust of adultery (5).

17669 - From Umm Na'ilah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: Abu Barzah came and did not find the mother of his child at home, and they said: She has gone to the mosque. When she arrived, he corrected her saying: Indeed, Allah has forbidden women to go out, and has commanded them to remain in their houses, not to follow a funeral, not to come to a mosque, and not to attend a Friday prayer (6).

His saying, the Almighty: 'And do not display yourselves as was the display of the former times of ignorance'
