that they descend with it; and it is forbidden to them. And he recited the saying of Allah: "And it is not suitable for them, and they are not able. Indeed, they are from hearing it removed."
His saying (the Exalted): "So do not invoke with Allah another deity, for you will be among the punished."
16010 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Adam ibn Iyas al-'Asqalani narrated to us, [saying]: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Yazid al-Rishk, from Abu Mijlaz, who said: I was sitting with 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar, and a man asked him about shirk (polytheism). He said: [It is] that you set up another deity alongside Allah.
His saying (the Exalted): "And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred."
16011 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, [saying]: Ibn Numayr narrated to us, [saying]: al-A'mash narrated to us, from 'Umar ibn Murrah, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: When Allah (the Almighty and Exalted) revealed: "And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred," the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) went to al-Safa and ascended it, then he called out: "Ya Sabaha!" (O what a morning calamity!). The people gathered to him, with one man coming himself and another sending his messenger. He said: "O Banu 'Abd al-Muttalib, O Banu Fihr, O Banu 'Abd Manaf: If I were to tell you that horses were in the valley of this mountain wanting to raid you, would you believe me?" They said: "Yes." He said: "Then I am a warner to you before a severe punishment." Abu Lahab said: "Woe to you for the rest of the day; have you called us only for this?" So Allah (the Almighty and Exalted) revealed: "May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he."
16012 - Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, [saying]: Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, [saying]: Mis'ar narrated to me, 'Abd al-Malik narrated to me, from Musa ibn Talhah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: It was revealed as: "And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred." He began to call the clans of Quraysh, clan by clan: "O Banu so-and-so: Save yourselves from the Fire." Until he reached Fatimah and said: "O Fatimah bint Muhammad: Save yourself from the Fire; I possess no power over anything from Allah for you, except that you have a kinship which I will sustain with its due [right]."
16013 - Abu 'Abd Allah Hammad ibn al-Hasan ibn 'Anbasah al-Warraq narrated to us, [saying]: Hammad ibn Mas'adah narrated to us, from Sulayman al-Taymi, from Abu 'Uthman, from Qabisah ibn Mukhariq and Zuhayr ibn 'Amr, from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), who said: When it was revealed: "And warn, your closest kindred..."
يَنْزِلُوا بِهِ وَهُوَ مَحْجُورٌ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَقَرَأَ قَوْلَ اللَّهِ: وَمَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ. إِنَّهُمْ، عَنِ السَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَلا تَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُعَذَّبِينَ
١٦٠١٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا آدَمُ بْنُ إِيَاسَ الْعَسْقَلانِيُّ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرِّشْكِ، عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ جَالِسًا، عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، فَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ، عَنِ الشِّرْكِ؟
قَالَ: أَنْ تَجْعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ
١٦٠١١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، ثنا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لَمَّا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- الصَّفَا فَصَعِدَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ نَادَى:
يَا صَحْبَاهُ فَاجْتَمَعَ إِلَيْهِ الناس، فبين رجل يجيء وَرَجُلٍ يَبْعَثِ رَسُولَهُ، فَقَالَ: يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، يَا بَنِي فِهْرٍ يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ: أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَخْبَرْتُكُمْ أَنَّ خَيْلا بِسَفْحِ هَذَا الْجَبَلِ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تُغِيرَ عَلَيْكُمْ صَدَّقْتُمُونِي؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَإِنِّي نَذِيرٌ لَكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ، فَقَالَ أَبُو لَهَبٍ: تَبًّا لَكُمْ سَائِرَ الْيَوْمِ إِنَّمَا دَعَوْتُمُونَا لِهَذَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وقد تب.
فَقَالَ أَبُو لَهَبٍ: تَبًّا لَكُمْ سَائِرَ الْيَوْمِ إِنَّمَا دَعَوْتُمُونَا لِهَذَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: تبت يدا أبي لهب وَقَدْ تَبَّ.
١٦٠١٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ثنا مِسْعَرٌ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: إِنَّمَا نَزَلَتْ: وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ قَالَ: جَعَلَ يَدْعُو بُطُونَ قُرَيْشٍ بَطْنًا بَطْنًا يَا بَنِي فُلانٍ: أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ، حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى فَاطِمَةَ فَقَالَ: يَا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ: أَنْقِذِي نَفْسَكِ مِنَ النَّارِ، لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنَّ لَكُمْ رَحِمًا سَأَبُلُّهَا بِبَلالِهَا.
١٦٠١٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَمَّادُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ، عَنْبَسَةَ الْوَرَّاقُ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ مُخَارِقٍ، وَزُهَيْرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ- وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ
