17698 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding [the fact] that he was not his son. By my life, he had male offspring, and he is the father of al-Qasim, Ibrahim, al-Tayyib, and al-Mutahhar (1).
17699 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "But [he is] the Messenger of Allah and the last of the prophets," he said: The final prophet.
17700 - From Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "My likeness and the likeness of the prophets is like a man who built a house, completed it, and perfected it, except for the place of a brick. Whoever entered it and looked at it said: How beautiful it is, except for the place of that brick! So I am [that] place of the brick, and the prophets were sealed with me" (2).
His saying, the Almighty: "Remember Allah with much remembrance."
17701 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "Remember Allah with much remembrance," he says: He did not impose any obligatory act of worship on His servants without setting a known limit for it, then excused its people in the event of an excuse, except for remembrance. For Allah, the Almighty, did not set a limit for it to reach, and did not excuse anyone for abandoning it, unless they were overcome in their intellect. So He said: "And remember Allah, standing, sitting, and [lying] on your sides," by night and day, on land and sea, in travel and at home, in wealth and poverty, in health and sickness, in secret and in public, and in every state. If you have glorified Him morning and evening, and you have done that, He and His angels will pray for you. Allah, the Almighty, said: "It is He who prays for you, and His angels [ask for your forgiveness]" (3).
17702 - From Muqatil regarding His saying: "Remember Allah with much remembrance," he said: With the tongue, through tasbih (glorification), takbir (proclaiming Allah's greatness), tahlil (proclaiming there is no god but Allah), and tahmid (praising Allah), and remember Him in every state, and glorify Him morning and evening, meaning: Pray to Allah in the morning at dawn, and in the evening at dusk.
[His saying, the Almighty: And glorify Him morning and evening]
17703 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "And glorify Him morning and evening," he said: The morning prayer and the afternoon prayer (4).
