His saying, the Almighty: "It is He who prays for you, and His angels."
17704 - From Abu al-Aliyah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "It is He who prays for you, and His angels," he said: Allah's prayer is His praise, and the prayer of the angels for them is supplication (1).
17705 - From Sa'id ibn Jubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "It is He who prays for you, and His angels," he said: He forgives you, and His angels ask for forgiveness for you (2).
17706 - From Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him), that he was asked about the saying: "O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim," he said: Allah honored the nation of Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), so He prayed for them just as He prayed for the prophets, saying: "It is He who prays for you, and His angels" (3).
17707 - From al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "It is He who prays for you," he said: The Children of Israel asked Moses (peace be upon him), "Does your Lord pray?" This weighed heavily upon the heart of Moses (peace be upon him), so Allah revealed to him: "Inform them that I do pray, and that My prayer is My mercy which has preceded My wrath" (4).
17708 - By way of 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "I said to Gabriel (peace be upon him), 'Does your Lord pray?' He said, 'Yes.' I said, 'And what is His prayer?' He said, 'Glorious, Holy, My mercy has preceded My wrath'" (5).
[His saying, the Almighty: Their greeting on the day they meet Him will be 'Peace,' and His saying, the Almighty: And He has prepared for them a noble reward]
17709 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Their greeting on the day they meet Him will be 'Peace'," [meaning] the greeting of the people of Paradise is 'Peace.' "And He has prepared for them a noble reward," meaning Paradise (6).
17710 - From al-Bara' ibn 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Their greeting on the day they meet Him will be 'Peace'," he said: On the day they meet the Angel of Death, there is no believer whose soul he seizes but that he greets him (7).
