Translation · EN

16394 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding his saying: "Before your glance returns to you," he said: "When the gaze is extended until the glance returns to you, disappointed."

16395 - Abu Sa'id narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Bashir narrated to us, from Isma'il, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, that he who had knowledge from the Book said to Sulayman: "Raise your glance." He said: So he raised his glance and it did not return to him until he looked at it.

16396 - My father narrated to us, Shihab ibn 'Abbad narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Humayd narrated to us, from Isma'il, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "Before your glance returns to you," it was said to him: "Raise your gaze toward where the throne will come from," and he did not blink until it was brought and placed before him.

16397 - Abu Ghassan al-Nahdi narrated to us, Qays narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you," he said: "The extent of his gaze, as it is between you and al-Hirah." He said: "And he was at that time in Kindah."

16398 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Musaddad narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "Before your glance returns to you," he said: "Before the limit of what you can see returns to you."

16399 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Ibn Idris narrated to us, from his father, regarding: "Before your glance returns to you," he said: "From your seat."

16400 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, who said: The jinn knew on that day that humans were more knowledgeable than them.

16401 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, who said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam, regarding the saying of Allah: "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you," he said: He called upon one of the names of Allah, and behold, her throne was carried before his eyes. He did not know that name; that name remained hidden from Sulayman, even though he had been given what he had been given.
