1005 - Al-Hasan ibn Abd al-Wahhab berichtete mir, dass Isma'il ibn Yusuf ihnen erzählte, er sagte: Muhammad ibn Aban berichtete uns, er sagte: Ich fragte Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi: "Ist der Glaube (Iman) Wort und Tat?" Er sagte: "Ja." Ich fragte: "Nimmt er zu und ab?" Er sagte: "Er weist Unterschiede auf, ein Wort ist besser als ein anderes."
١٠٠٥ - أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، أَنَّ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ: الْإِيمَانُ قَوْلٌ وَعَمَلٌ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» ، قُلْتُ: يَزِيدُ وَيَنْقُصُ؟ قَالَ: «يَتَفَاضَلُ، كَلِمَةٌ أَحْسَنُ مِنْ كَلِمَةٍ»
