other hadiths. It was also narrated from him (130) that he said: "A woman shall not connect her hair with hair, nor with qarāmil (131) (braids), nor with wool. The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade the act of joining (wiṣāl), so everything that connects is considered joining." He also narrated in his Musnad (132) from Jabir, who said: "The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade a woman from connecting anything to her head." Al-Marwadhi said: A woman from among those who comb hair came to Abu Abd Allah and said: "I connect a woman's head with qarāmil and I comb it; do you consider it permissible for me to perform Hajj from what I have earned?" He replied: "No." He disliked her earnings and said to her: "It should be from money more wholesome than this."
The manifest view is that what is prohibited is strictly the connection of hair with hair, due to the deception involved and the use of hair whose impurity is disputed. Other than that, it is not prohibited because these meanings are absent, and there is an attainment of the benefit of a woman beautifying herself for her husband without harm. And Allah the Almighty knows best.
Section: As for the "nāmiṣah" (the plucker), she is the one who plucks hair from the face, and the "mutanammisah" is she whose hair is plucked at her request; this is not permissible due to the report. If the hair is shaved, there is no harm in it, because the report only addressed plucking. Ahmad affirmed this. As for the "wāshirah", she is the one who files the teeth with a file or similar tool to sharpen them, space them, and beautify them, and the "mustawshirah" is she for whom that is done with her permission. In another report: "Allah has cursed the wāshimah (tattooer) and the mustawshimah (one who asks to be tattooed)." (133) The wāshimah is the one who pricks her skin with a needle,
