المغني لابن قدامة - ت التركي
مجلد 1 · صفحة 279فصل

الترجمة · EN

The narrations of this entire section were recorded by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah. Abdullah ibn Ja'far said: "The most beloved thing the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used for cover while answering the call of nature was a high mound or a cluster of date palms." Recorded by Ibn Majah.

Section: It is recommended that one seeks a soft place for his urine so that it does not splash back onto him. Abu Musa said: "I was with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, one day, and he wished to urinate, so he went to a soft patch of ground at the base of a wall, urinated, and then said: 'If one of you wishes to urinate, he should seek out a place for it.'"

It is recommended to urinate while sitting, so that it does not splash onto one. Ibn Mas'ud said: "It is an act of roughness to urinate while standing." Sa'd ibn Ibrahim did not accept the testimony of someone who urinated while standing. Aisha said: "Whoever tells you that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to urinate while standing, do not believe him; he never used to urinate except while sitting." Al-Tirmidhi said: "This is the most authentic report on the subject." A concession regarding this has also been narrated.
