the jinn and the private parts of the children of Adam when entering the privy is to say: "Bismillah (In the name of Allah)" (61)." From Abu Umamah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "One of you should not be unable, when entering his lavatory, to say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the loathsome, impure, foul, and evil Satan, the accursed.'" Both were brought out by Ibn Majah (62). Abu 'Ubayd said: "Al-khubuth," with a sukun on the ba', is evil. "Al-khaba'ith" are the devils. It is also said: "Al-khubuth," with a damma on the ba', and "al-khaba'ith" are the male and female devils. When he leaves the privy, he should say: "Ghufranaka (I seek Your forgiveness), praise be to Allah who has removed from me harm and granted me health." It is reported from Anas that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when he exited the privy, used to say: "Ghufranaka, praise be to Allah who has removed from me harm and granted me health." Ibn Majah brought it out (63). 'A'isha said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when he exited the privy, would say: "Ghufranaka (64)." Al-Tirmidhi said: "This is a hasan (good) hadith."

Section: There is no harm in urinating into a vessel. Umayma bint Ruqayqa said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had a wooden bowl (65) that he would urinate into and place under his bed. Brought out by Abu Dawud, al-Nasa'i, and Ibn Majah (66).

Al-Suyuti reported from the book "Tathqif al-Lisan": "Whoever gives the 'ayn a kasra has erred," meaning because he intended the plural of wood, and if pieces of wood are gathered, a bowl that retains water cannot be formed from them, unlike the one who gave the 'ayn a fatha, for he intends a bowl of wood with this description that is hollowed out to hold what is placed in it.
