to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): 'I experience a severe and unusual menstrual flow, which has prevented me from fasting and praying.' The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh: 'When the menstrual flow arrives, leave the prayer.' Among them is that it causes the obligation of prayer to drop, but not fasting, based on what was narrated that Mu'adha said: I asked Aisha and said: 'What is the matter with the menstruating woman that she makes up the fast but does not make up the prayer?' She replied: 'Are you a Haruriyya?' I said: 'I am not a Haruriyya, but I am asking.' She said: 'We used to menstruate during the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and we were ordered to make up the fast and were not ordered to make up the prayer.' Agreed upon. Aisha only said that to her because the Khawarij believe that a menstruating woman must make up the prayer. Among them is that it prevents the recitation of the Quran, because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The menstruating woman and the person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) shall not recite anything from the Quran.' Among them: that it prevents remaining in the mosque and circumambulating the House (Tawaf), because it is in the same category as major ritual impurity (janaba). Among them is that it renders divorce forbidden;
