it [the period] from (15) the fifth [month] as black blood; because it is more similar to the blood of menstruation.
Section: If she sees in every month fifteen days of black blood, and fifteen days of red, then all the black is menstruation; because it is fit to be menstruation, and she has seen in it the mark of menstruation, so it is established as being menstruation.
93 - Issue: He said: (If her blood is not separated [by color], and she has days of the month which she recognizes, she shall refrain from prayer during them, and perform ghusl when they have passed.)
This is the second category: She is one who has a habit (adah) but has no distinction (tamyiz) due to her blood not being separated [in quality], meaning it is of a nature that does not vary and some of it does not distinguish from the rest, based on what we mentioned regarding the one who has distinction. Likewise, if it is separated but the blood that is fit for menstruation is less than the minimum menstruation or more than its maximum, then she has no distinction. If she had a habit before she began experiencing irregular bleeding (istihadah), she observes the days of her habit and performs ghusl upon their completion. Then she performs ablution (wudu) after that for the time of every prayer and prays. This is the opinion of Abu Hanifah and al-Shafi'i. Malik said: There is no consideration for the habit; the consideration is only for distinction. If she is not one with distinction, she waits for three days after the duration of her habit, provided it does not exceed fifteen days, [then she is] (1) after that in a state of irregular bleeding. He argued with the hadith of Fatimah which we mentioned. Our evidence is the hadith of Umm Salamah. It has been narrated in the hadith of Fatimah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to her: "Leave the prayer for the duration of the days in which you used to menstruate, then perform ghusl and pray." It is agreed upon (2). In one version, he said: "When the menstruation approaches, leave the prayer, and when its duration has passed, wash the blood from yourself and pray." It is agreed upon (2). Umm Habibah (3) narrated that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the blood? The [Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] (4) said to her: "Wait for the duration that your menstruation used to..."
