upon which it was suspended. It is also possible that the divorce occurs (20) immediately and the condition is void, based on what we mentioned regarding suspending divorce upon impossibilities.

Chapter: If he has four wives and says, 'Whichever of you I have not had intercourse with, her co-wives are divorced,' and he restricts it to a time, and the time passes without him having had intercourse with them, they are divorced three times each; because each one of them has three co-wives with whom there has been no intercourse. If he has intercourse with three and leaves one, the one left is not divorced; because she has no co-wife (21) with whom there has been no intercourse, and each one of the ones with whom there was intercourse is divorced one time. If he has intercourse with two, they are each divorced two times, and the two left are each divorced one time. If he has intercourse with one, she is divorced three times, and each one of the left ones is divorced two times each. If he does not restrict it to a time, the time for the divorce is restricted to his lifetime and their lifetime (22). So whichever of them dies, each of her co-wives is divorced one time, and if another dies, it is the same. If he dies, they are all divorced at the last moment of his life.

Chapter: If he says, 'If you are not pregnant, you are divorced,' and she was not pregnant, she is divorced. If she delivers a child in less than six months from the time of the oath, or in less than four years, and he had not been having intercourse with her, she is not divorced; because we realize that she was pregnant with that child. If four years pass and she does not give birth, we realize that she was divorced at the time of concluding the oath. If he was having intercourse with her, and she delivers a child in more than six months and less than four years, you must look; if the signs of pregnancy appear, such as the cessation of menstruation and the like, before his intercourse, or close to it, such that it [does not allow for] (24) it to be from the second intercourse, she is not divorced.
