and Dawud, Abu Thawr, and Ibn al-Mundhir, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "A single suckling or two do not cause prohibition." It is also narrated from Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith that she said: The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A single suckling (7) or two do not cause prohibition." Both are reported by Muslim (8). And because whatever number and repetition are considered in, the number three is considered. It is narrated from Hafsah: "Nothing less than ten sucklings causes prohibition" (9). This is also narrated from Aisha (10), because 'Urwah narrated in the hadith of Sahlah bint Suhayl that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to her, according to what reached us: "Suckle him ten times, and he will be prohibited by your milk." The reasoning (11) for the first view is what is narrated from Aisha, that she said: "It was revealed in the Quran: 'Ten known sucklings cause prohibition' (12). Then five were abrogated from that, and it became five known sucklings that cause prohibition, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away while the matter was such." Reported by Muslim (13).
