Hurayrah, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) prohibited sadl during prayer, and that a man should cover his mouth. It was narrated by Abu Dawud (49) via the chain of 'Ata'. Then he narrated from Ibn Jurayj that he said: The most I saw 'Ata' do was pray while performing sadl.

It is disliked to let the shirt, the izar (lower garment), and the trousers trail (isbal) (50); [because the Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded that the izar be raised. If he does that] (51) out of [arrogance (khuyala')] (52), it is forbidden (53), because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever drags his garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him." Agreed upon (54). Abu Dawud (55) narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Whoever lets his izar trail during his prayer out of arrogance, he has no share in Allah, Glorified be His Remembrance, regarding what is lawful or forbidden."

It is disliked for a man to cover his face or his mouth (56), due to what we mentioned from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah:
