The earlier hadiths are more established and clearer regarding the ruling; for the Prophet's (peace be upon him) failure to return the greeting to the man admits the possibility that it was for a reason other than the redness, and it is possible that it was dyed with safflower (mu'asfar), which is disliked. The hadith of Rafi' is narrated from him by an unknown man. Furthermore, redness is a color, so it is like all other colors.

Section: Abu Dawud (79) narrated from Abu Rimthah (80) who said: I went with my father towards the Prophet (peace be upon him) and saw him wearing two green burdahs. With his chain of narration (81), he narrated from Qatadah who said: We said to Anas: Which clothing was most beloved to the Prophet (peace be upon him)? He said: The hibarah (82). This is agreed upon (83). With his chain of narration (84), he narrated from Ibn 'Umar (85) that it was said to him: Why do you dye with yellow (sufrah)? He replied: I saw
