Chapter: On the Times During Which Prayer Is Forbidden
Ibn Abbas reported: People who are pleasing to me, the most pleasing of whom is Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, testified before me that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade prayer after the Subh (dawn prayer) until the sun rises, and after the Asr (afternoon prayer) until the sun sets. Abu Said reported: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "There is no prayer after the Subh until the sun has ascended, and no prayer after the Asr until the sun has set." Both are agreed upon. In another version: "after the Fajr prayer and after the Asr prayer." Reported by Muslim. Abu Hurayrah reported the like of Umar's hadith, except he said: "And from prayer after the Subh until the sun rises." And from Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with both of them,

بابُ السَّاعاتِ التي نُهِىَ عن الصَّلاةِ فيها
رَوَى ابنُ عَبَّاسٍ قال: شَهِدَ عِنْدِى رِجَالٌ مَرْضِيُّونَ، وأَرْضَاهم عِنْدِى عمرُ، رَضِىَ اللَّه عنه، أنَّ النَّبِيَّ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم- نَهَى عن الصَّلَاةِ بعدَ الصُّبْحِ، حتَّى تُشْرِقَ الشَّمْسُ، وبعدَ العَصْرِ، حتى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ. وعن أبِي سَعِيدٍ قال: قال رَسُولُ اللهِ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم-: "لا صَلَاةَ بعد الصُّبْحِ حتى تَرْتَفِعَ الشَّمْسُ، ولا صَلَاةَ بعد العَصْرِ حتى تَغِيبَ (٣٦) الشَّمْسُ" مُتَّفَقٌ عليهما (٣٧). وفى لفظٍ بعد صَلَاةِ الفَجْرِ وبعد صَلَاةِ العَصْرِ. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ (٣٨). وعن أبي هُرَيْرَةَ مثلُ حَدِيثِ عمرَ، إلا أنه قال: وعن الصَّلَاةِ بعد الصُّبْحِ حتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ (٣٩). وعن ابنِ عمرَ، رَضِىَ اللهُ عنهما،
