It is recommended to establish the Friday prayer after the sun passes the meridian (zawal), for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do that.

الجَعْدِ الضَّمْرىِّ، أنَّ رسولَ اللهِ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم-، قال: "مَنْ تَرَكَ ثَلَاثَ جُمَعٍ تَهَاوُنًا طَبَعَ اللهُ على قَلْبِهِ". وقال عليه السَّلَامُ: "الجُمُعَةُ حَقٌّ وَاجِبٌ على كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ، إلَّا أَرْبَعَةً: عَبْدٌ مَمْلُوكٌ، أو امْرَأَةٌ، أو صَبِيٌّ، أو مَرِيضٌ". رَوَاهُما أبو دَاوُدَ (٤٣). وعن جابِرٍ، قال: "خَطَبَنَا رَسولُ اللهِ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم- فقال: "وَاعْلَمُوا أنَّ اللَّه تَعَالَى قَدِ افْتَرَضَ عَلَيْكُم الجُمُعَةَ في مُقَامِي هذا، في يَوْمِي هذَا، فِي شَهْرِى هذَا، مِنْ عَامِي هذَا، فَمَنْ تَرَكَها في حَيَاتِى أوْ بَعْدَ مَوْتِى (٤٤)، ولَهُ إمَامٌ عَادِلٌ أو جَائِرٌ، أسْتِخْفَافًا بِها، أوْ جُحُودًا (٤٥) لَهَا (٤٦)، فَلَا جَمَعَ اللهُ شَمْلَهُ، ولَا بَارَكَ لَهُ في أَمْرِه، أَلَا ولَا صَلَاةَ لَهُ، ألَا ولَا زَكَاةَ لَهُ، ألَا ولَا حَجَ لَهُ، أَلَا ولَا صَوْمَ لَهُ، ولَا بِرَّ لَهُ، حَتَّى يَتُوبَ، فَإنْ تَابَ تَابَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ". رَوَاهُ ابنُ مَاجَه (٤٧). وأجْمَعَ المُسلمون على وُجُوبِ الجُمُعَةِ.
٢٧٩ - مسألة؛ قال: (وَإِذَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمَ الجُمُعَةِ صَعِدَ الْإِمَامُ عَلَى المِنْبَرِ)
المُسْتَحَبُّ إقَامَةُ الجُمُعةِ بعدَ الزَّوَالِ؛ لأنَّ النَّبِيَّ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم- كان يَفْعَلُ ذلك. قال
